VSW - Printing Service - documentation?
Is there any documentation associated with the "Printing Service" under the Services tab? The only option seems to allow one to define "the print engine URL used for sending print requests." Is there an example of what that would be?
Also, even if I typed in a faulty URL, the option for choosing a 'Print template' layout change to ask for an 'ArcGIS Pro Layout'. Any documentation about that?

The eye-of-Cam is upon this ... we are working hard to ensure all the pieces of this are released before the end of March (sooner if I can managed it).
Ultimately to use the new printing engine you'll need:1. Web 5.28 (as we found and fixed one last thing that was needed for the integration)
2. Printing 'next' - which will have the updates to the Designer experience so that you can build and store .pagx layouts from Printing Designer
3. The installer for the new engine (which is installed as a geoprocessing task on your ArcGIS Enterprise server. There are two endpoints here. One for converting between existing printing layouts and .pagx and one for generating the prints themselves.

Hey Mike Diss-Torrance good eye, you've spotted a stub in Studio Web that is going to be connected to an upcoming release of Studio Printing.
We alude to this here in the What's New section for 5.27:"Updated the Printing component in Web to operate on either print layouts or ArcGIS Pro layouts (.pagx) for the new printing engine. An upcoming release of VertiGIS Studio Printing will provide the design-time tools to modify and save ArcGIS Pro layouts, and the installer for the new printing service engine."
I'm personally excited about this because it will bring the advanced print output capabilities of ArcGIS Pro to a web context. I believe this will surpass the current version. Features such as layouts and interface elements like scale bars will all originate from ArcGIS Pro. This implies high-quality print output from a web context, just like on desktop.

Do you know which release, or better yet when, ArcGIS Pro layouts will be available in Studio Printing?
We just installed version 5.22.

Good question Mike Diss-Torrance, I don't have a specific release or timeline. I know we have a Studio Printing 5.23 release targeted for March, though I don't have detail on whether this will contain that new functionality.
