Page isn't responding - import or export configuration - VS Web

I don't know if this a bug or something with my computer, but when I try to copy an item (i.e. text) from one project to another, the export or import configuration  process seems to take much longer than it should, to the point where the web browser displays a warning that the page isn't responding. 

The same behavior occurs when I try to unlink a shared item between 2 layouts. 

Does anybody have this issue too? If so, other than downloading the json file and altering it manually, is there a better solution?
