workflow designer on local machine gives error!

I copied the workflow designer from my essentials server to my local box.  the program executes and comes up, but any workflow I open gives me an error.  Do I need to change the config file or something else to make it behave itself?

  What sort of error are you seeing? Can you create new workflows? Just copying the Workflow Designer folder to another machine should be fine so long as  the machine has the .NET Framework 4.0.
