Workflow Error Occurs With Certain Values

I built a workflow to search parcel values greater than a certain value. However when I enter a value above 1,000,000 then I get an error when testing that is listed below. Is this due to the amount of records returned? Basically the search works with certain values but not ones below a certain threshold. Anyone else run into this problem before?

Expected a ',' or '}'

  I'm getting the same error in a workflow based on the example in the Workflow Tutorial.  The workflow has two combo boxes.  The first has a required value, the second is a value cascaded from the first combo box.

  The error occurs in the "SelectFeatures" tool in the workflow when the non-required search field is left blank.
