JavaScript API and HTML Viewer update
Hi guys,
Just an update regarding HTML and JavaScript ... we are currently hard at work on the next version of our JavaScript API as well as an HTML5 application framework and viewer.
Our application framework will be geared towards providing a clean, modular development experience using modern web development concepts and patterns. We're building on proven concepts from our Silverlight viewer such as commands, events, regions, views, shells, and modules. We've also introduced a powerful HTML data-binding engine and other useful UI concepts that we feel will aid in rapid development of both simple and rich client applications.
Our next-generation API and framework is intended for both mobile and desktop use. Applications developed using the framework can run seamlessly across phones, tablets, and desktops simply by changing layouts.
The focus of the initial viewer release will be to provide a vehicle for GIS workflows and a strong development platform for authoring mobile and non-mobile web applications. We are currently researching the best ways to provide accessibility and internationalization functionality.
We don’t have a specific release date, but end of 2011/beginning of 2012 is likely when the first release of the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 and the next Essentials JavaScript API will appear.
Thank you for your interest!
Cheers,
Jason

Jason - can you provide an update on when the HTML5 viewer will be released?

Hi Patrick,
We're getting quite close - sometime in the next week or two you should see the release of 1.0.
Cheers,
Jason
