Mixed content. https. Bing

Hi all,

I'm now got my sites working with https. but another problem arises. Mixed content in IE8. I setup Arcgis server output folders to https. but when viewing the site I get errors about mixed content. Searching the net I found this:

Another common problem (described by lots of folks in the comments) is caused by using JavaScript protocol links for the SRC attribute of SCRIPT tags. In IE8 and below, the following SCRIPT tag will cause a mixed-content warning: <script type="text/javascript" id="contentloadtag" defer="defer" src="javascript:void(0)">

It seems IE8 has a problem with javascript src tag.

Fiddler doesn't show any http traffic so i assume I'm running into this IE8 error. Any solution for this ?

Then a second question. We want to use bing maps. but i can not find a setting to get bing over a https url. So i assume when using bing i will also get mixed content messages.

Any help on this subject ?

Your talking ADF client right although i think its somewhat irrelevant to my answer below?

Re mixed-content, unfortunately i think there's no way of getting around this & its not an IE8 only issues (you will get it in IE9). From memory its to do with how the viewer is constructed.

You can suppress the warning through client (browser) config although this isn't ideal as it means all users having to do this : (

Not using bing currently so can't comment on that front i'm afraid.
