    Hi Kenneth,

Did you try http://myserver/filelocation/{featureattribute} instead (ie without the <a href />.  I haven't tried hyperlinks with variables, but I use this method to create a link from one of my feature attributes.

    Cheers,

    Mick

yes, I tried the without the <a href> tag but I don't like the long URL

Ideally, I'd like to click on a link like this  (http://support.geocorex.com) Goto Support  and not http://support.geocortex.com

    Hi Kenneth,

What version of Essentials are you using? This functionality is new in Essentials 3.7. This video describes exactly what you are trying to do, starting at around 6:02

    Hey Kenneth,

I just checked with the 3.7 rest manager and the feature description and long description HTML editor seem to have the functionality you're looking for. There is a link button on the editor's toolbar that will insert an anchor for you. Within that anchor, I think it is possible to do attribute substitution. Let me know if it works out for you.

    Cheers

    Kevin

    I got it working.

By manually typing in the html code in the feature description didn't work....I had to use the editor to get it working.

    Thanks,

    Ken
