Display Form Elements

I'm attempting to design a form with quite a few Group elements including check boxes, list boxes, date pickers and so on. Either it's very difficult to design complex forms or I just don't know how to do it. There does not seem to be any way to format elements so that they are aligned. I can run them vertically or horizontally and that's about it. It would be nice to rack them up in nice columns and rows, all the same width and so on. Perhaps have control over the text appearance.

Does anyone have any examples they could share of complex forms?

Can any finer formatting be done directly in xaml file outside the Workflow Designer? If so, where would I find documentation?

  These images show what I'm trying to do. The first image shows the Workflow Designer layout and the second shows what it actually looks like in the SL Viewer. Not exactly WYSIWYG.

  Hi Bill,

        In a future version of forms it might be possible to allow more complex layout (beyond 2 columns layout). One of the goal for the form designer is to keep the designing experience as simple as possible. It's always a balance between feature rich and ease of use.

       As for the second part of your post, the designer uses the WPF API and the preview you are seeing is the WPF rendering of the form. So if you were building a WPF app, your form would render as you are seeing (WYSIWYG). You've identified a possible issue with horizontal alignment in the Silverlight rendering engine. Can you post your actual workflow so that we can use it to reproduce the issue and fix it for the next release?

  Thanks for the xaml,

       I will identify what the issue is in the Silverlight API and have a fix for the next release.

       I also ran your workflow in our new HTML viewer (still in beta) and it looks fairly good. We'll be able to make some adjustments before final to ensure it displays correctly.
