Print Template - Bitmap Background White in PDF output
Hello all,
I have encountered an issue where I have several images that I have in my print templates. I have set the backgrounds to match the appropriate template colors in Report Designer.
In all picture format outputs from my viewer the images pass through with no issue, the background color comes through as planned. However when I create the map as a PDF the conversion of the image in the PDF process does not hold on to the background characteristics and defaults back to a white background. It also makes no difference if I change the background to
Is there a solution to this or has anyone run into this problem before?
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
I haven't seen this behaviour before. PDFs deal with image formats differently - could you perhaps try converting your image files to .bmp (or .jpg or .png, depending on what you're currently using) to see if that causes the PDF to reflect the image accurately?

John,
I did try that, however it is the PDF process itself that takes whatever format you input and turns it into a JPEG while creating the PDF.
Apparently there is no way around it at this point according to support.
Thanks,
Eric

Hi,
Has there any work done on solving this issue? i'm getting the same result using a PNG with transparency. When you preview in report designer the output is a transparent background but when printed to a PDF the background of the PNG is white.
Cheers!
