Global Search returning nil results
Firstly, is there any 'detailed' documentation available for Global Search configuration (admin guide is light)?
Secondly, did the 3.8 release included the much anticipated improved search functionality that Latitude have been highlighting as a significant feature to be coming in 'next' releases. Apologies but i see no reference to this hence i suspect its not released yet (if @Latitude can confirm this i would appreciate it).
Thirdly my problems: I've upgraded to 3.8/1.5 & I am unable to successfully configure Global Search functionality for any layers (i've largely ignored Global Searches to date hence somewhat a novice when it comes to its configuration).
As i understand it however, configuration is very simple & in effect is just ensuring your layer in question is enabled to 'Include in Global Search'. A couple of queries around this:
- Can someone explain the difference of applying this at the layer level vs at the field level? One assumes layer level will include 'all' fields for the layer in question or is it extended to include layer name etc?
- Does the field level actually work (e.g. restrict the global search to this field only)? Does it have a pre-requisite that it must be enabled for the layer as well as for the field?
I can see via fiddler the 'find' query is being fired by the rest endpoint but nil results being returned? Nil info in System.Log. Where do i start looking next? Am i missing something obvious?
@Latitude - are there any know issues/limitations w.r.t. global searching?
Note: I am using secured map services.

So this now works, the only change made on the site is in relation to Site folder permissions as outlined via http://support.geocortex.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=2&thread=46779.
Intrigued.
@Latitude: I would still appreciate some comments around my queries although given your just piggy-backing of the ESRI REST find operation i think i understand field vs layer level searches. I still query have you improved this query function in the latest release?
