Layer Field issues

I believe when using alias names in your mxd you will still need to use the actual column when configuring a layer in essentials. Also did you setup your fields in essentials when you add your columns you can exclude which ones you want end users to see and also setup alias there. I used to keep alias in the mxd but I did have problems with so I now just setup alias names in the manager for each layer if needed.

    Hello all,

I am still having problems with the lack of ability to choose the field names from the drop-down boxes for certain actions (ie trying to modify the 'Feature Label' attribute for a layer under the Map configuration section.  Basically, any time I can choose to specify a field via drop-down I am unable to Insert the name.

I had originally thought that the use of aliases in my MXD was a potential cause but I made a very simple 2-layer MXD with no aliases from scratch and the problems still occur.  The ArcGIS Server 10.1 install is on the same box as the Geocortex Essentials 3.10 install so no outside calls are made except for the data in SQL Server SDE (9.3.1) that resides on a data server.

Is no one else having this problem?  This was a brand-new virtual server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, SP1) with new installs so there is no residual configurations from past upgrades to potentially give me problems.

Is there a way to edit the config file to manually type in the changes I want to do (ie specifying the fields that I want to be made available to globally search on, remove certain fields from being shown during Identify, etc)?  Any help or suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Mike G

I finally figured out that my issues with drop-down boxes, etc did not have anything to do with Geocortex Essentials.  My installation of Internet Explorer 9 (9.0.8112.16421) was not allowing me to choose from the drop-downs.  I tried it with Google Chrome and it works fine.

    Thanks
