Using 'Cut' via a Geometry Server (GE3.10)

Hi to all

I was wondering if anybody has looked at the range of Geometry related activities and started wanting for the complete set of functions available from the Geometry Server (at AGS 10.1)

• Areas and Lengths  
• Auto Complete  
• Buffer  
• Convex
• Hull  
• Cut  
• Densify  
• Difference  
• Distance  
• Generalize  
• Intersect  
• Label Points  
• Lengths  
• Offset  
• Project  
• Relation  
• Reshape  
• Simplify  
• Trim
• Extend  
• Union

The one that I am after at the moment is Cut to be used to split a line at a user input location.

Has anyone else made use of a Geometry Server function that is not yet catered for as an Activity?

  Hi Ralph and others,

  The following geometry service operations are currently supported in workflow (as of 3.10):

  • Areas and Lengths 
  • Buffer 
  • Difference 
  • Distance 
  • Generalize 
  • Intersect 
  • Lengths 
  • Project 
  • Simplify 
  • Union

  In the next release we will add support for Cut.

  We started by implementing a few "obvious" ones like Buffer and Project. Since then the additions have been driven by customer feedback and requirements for our own projects. If anyone out there feels that there is a need for some of these other operations please let us know and we'll consider adding them. The remaining geometry service operations are fairly low on our priority list at the moment.

  Hi Ryan

  thanks for the clarification on the additions.

  I have just had a quick look at what is not there and on the face of it and trying to think of their application then it would just be the Cut missing for me at this point.
