Performance of reports
Hi to all
I am looking at the issue of performance of feature reports on multiple features.
I have a parcels layer with ~10 linked data connections to it including one that has owner name(s) and mailing address(es) as it's content
A mailing address report has been created ie a main report with a sub-report. The main report is empty apart from the sub-report which has the data from the 'Mailing' datalink.
Here are some performance measures for the pdf output to be generated
1.3s for 1 parcel with 3 owners
1.9s for 2 parcels with 7 owners
2.5s for 3 parcels with 9 owners
3.0s for 4 parcels with 11 owners
!!??s for 5 parcels with 13 owners actually it timed out after two minutes
There seems to be a issue here!
I can only assume that all linked data is being passed to the reporting environment even though only some of it will be used. In this case a tiny proportion of it.
There is an Option in the Report configuration for a given report against a layer to specify whether to Perform Data Linking but this would appear to be for all Linked Data sources. It would be useful to specify what linked data goes against a report.
Is anyone experiencing a similar issue?
I will now check out the Reports in the code gallery and see if they behave in a similar way
Thanks
Ralph

ditto Ralph...I've had comments from city staff about how slow it takes to generate a report.
I don't get a time out but it can take ~15 to 45 seconds to generate a report.
My report has 3 sub reports.
