Error when adding map service to site

I am a new user trying to create my first site.  Essentials is returning an error when I try to add my map service to the site.

I am getting an error "cannot connect to remote site."

 

This is the address of my map service:   http://adamscountyarcserver.com/arcgis/rest/services/AdamsCoBaseMap/MapServer

 

Can anyone else get to my map service?

  Are you when adding the map service going through a proxy?

  Hi Joye

  a side issue with no relevance to your current issue but I was wondering if you had considered adding any display scales to your layers in the mxd?

  For performance reasons if nothing else.

  We are not using a proxy server.

   

  We are working on optimizing our map document right now for web display.
