I need to detect "job completed" or job failed from web request in workflow

I am retrieving the output from the web request, well enough, but It happens to soon and I just get the check job status  message.  I need to be able to detect when the http request has completed and determine if it has been successful or failed.  I there a good way to do this? to detect the job status of a web request?
