Consuming external AGS map sevices & controlling display levels

Hi, 

We need to consume an external (other provider) cached map service; our problem is we don't control display levels & therefore do not have the abilty in Geocortex SL Viewer to control layer display (for example, we wish for Aerial Photos to on come on at 1: 20 000).

I understand the next release of geocortex is to have this functionality but i want to ensure no one has a clever way of doing this?  I attempted a band-aid solution whereby i consume & republish the services however this is not a supported data type in AGS 10.1

  We are trying to do the same thing at The Point.
