list files in a directory in Autocomplete Box

I am trying to write a workflow that when run will return all files of type .pdf in an existing directory. Currently I am using a static feature table I created and published to AGS that has all of the file names in it. However, since files are being added and removed from the directory, I would rather have the listing called each time the tool is run instead of pre-stored.

How can I return a list of files in a directory via an Autocomplete box?

  I was able to get this workflow to work in the workflow designer (it was greyed out in the Viewer's I Want To menu). The issue I ran into though is that I am trying to pull hundreds of filenames in, and it doesn't appear that this workflow will run fast enough (plus I wouldn't know where to start with trying to speed it up). Thanks nevertheless, it's a nicely designed workflow.
