Oracle Data Connection Error
Hi all, I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help with an issue we're having. We get an error when trying to test the connection to our Oracle server in the Data Connections section of Geocortex Manager. The error we get is:
Connection failed!
DataConnection '': Unable to establish a connection for DataConnection ''. [OCIEnvCreate failed with return code -1 but error message text was not available.]
Unfortunately our DBA's so far haven't been able to help. Has anyone seen this before?
thanks
Neil.

Hi Neil,
I believe that the REST Manager wizard uses the older System.Data.OracleClient to connect to your database, rather than ODP.NET's Oracle.DataAccess.Client.
What version of Oracle are you using at your organization?
Has the Oracle client been installed on the computer that runs Essentials? We'll need that regardless of the client connection info we use.

Hi Malcom,
Thanks for the reply. We are running Oracle 10g and we have version 10.2.0 of the client installed on our 'Essentials server'.
In ArcGIS on the essentials server we are able to use Direct Connect to the oracle server and also add a query layer using an Oracle 10g connection. So it's only through the Geocortex manager that we have this issue.
Note that on our DEV server we can connect to our dev Oracle in manager. Both DEV & PROD environments 'should' be exactly the same and we haven't been able to find any differences.

Neil,
Check out: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2221003We found a conflict with the dll in system32; removing this resovled issue.
