PrintMap - Result URL

Hi!

Is there a way to get the URL of the PDF only when the PrintMap activity is over? Now, the Result Url of the PrintMap activity gets to the "print job in progress" page that the user needs to refresh a couple of times until the PDF url appears... not really convenient.

  Hi Vincent,

  Since you have configured the print template to be asynchronous this is not possible. There isn't a mechanism for the viewer to poll the server to find out if the job is complete. 

  The print status page does automatically refresh itself every 20 seconds.

  How do you configure a print template to be synchronous then?

  Hi Vincent,

  Synchronous is the default. In Manager for a particular print template you can open the "Edit Print Jobs" menu and disable print jobs. Asynchronous print jobs are necessary in a lot of cases where the print will take a long time, or you wish to have the result emailed to the end user, so disabling them may not be viable for you.
