Is it possible to group map layers

We have several WMS map layers and want to group them according to their topic, e.g. culture, riskanalysis etc. I couldn't find a way to create a group and then move the map layers in the group through the Rest Manager interface. Is it possible to do it e.g. in the site.xml? Thanks ahead for the response.

  There might be grouping coming in the roadmap ahead.... (Latitude??)  But I doubt it covers WMS.

  We ended up with a web service that republished a WMS as a ESRI Rest Interface where you can regroup WMS layers.

  Crazy really, but works.

  Thanks Peter! We tried to include the WMS services in a mxd file and publish it to the ArcGIS server as a service, but it seemed that it was not allowed either. What is your way to republish WMS?

  We used to republished a few WMSes in MXDs in earlier versions of ArcGIS Server, but that's not possible any more.

  We used to republish because the WMS was overly complex and caused issues in Essentials... also we had a WMS that didn't accept 3857 as a projection.

  Unfortunately I'm not too sure how the new republisher works.  But since it exists and we're using it I'm sure it's possible.

  It creates it's own REST interface which is compatible with Geocortex.
