Coordinate systems and tile sizes must match
We're adding a cached image service to a Geocortex 3.14 site, but Geocortex complains with:
The selected map service's tiling scheme is not compatible with the tiling scheme of the existing map service(s). Coordinate systems and tile sizes must match when overlaying cached map services on top of each other.
The tiling scheme of the existing cached map service is 512x512 and its spatial reference is 26911 (26911).
The cached image service that we're trying to add has a tiling scheme: 512x512 and spatial reference:
PROJCS["North_American_1983_UTM_Zone_11N",GEOGCS["GCS_North_American_1983",DATUM["D_North_American_1983",SPHEROID["GRS_1980",6378137.0,298.257222101]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],PARAMETER["false_easting",500000.0],PARAMETER["false_northing",0.0],PARAMETER["central_meridian",-117.0],PARAMETER["scale_factor",0.9996],PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",0.0],UNIT["Meter",1.0]]
These are equivalent but it's just that they are expressed differently. Is there a way to get Geocortex to see them as equivalent?

This may be a really dumb question but how do you check the tiling scheme settings for a cached image service that's already been published? I'm having nothing but problems with image services and I'd like to check that to rule that out (or in) as an issue.

Hi Rebecca
have you tried looking at the REST endpoint for the map service ie http://geo.rdc.govt.nz/arcgis/rest/services/Core/Aerials/MapServer or whatever the equivalent is for your map service?

Yes, and it previews fine with no access issues. I'm using GE 4.1 HTML5 2.2. When I add an image service to the map, it automatically places it at the bottom. I define it as a base layer. The intial extent of my map in the preview window looks fine when it's just vector data but when I add an image service it shifts the intial extent and limits the scale (i.e. zooming abillity) to 1:10,000 and closer. The image service is cached and the top caching level is 1:10,000. When I add the image service and move it to the top of the map services listed for the site, the intial extent settings are honoured but the image service is not visible once I zoom in to an area and there is no error or warning. So, in my case, having the image service at the top or the bottom of the map service list for the site results in problems. All the data is in the same projection. I'm at a loss. Waiting on a call from tech support...

Are the map services publically accessible so that I can have a look?

Unfortunately they are on a development server and not available to the public. It would be great if there was some sort of ESRI/Geocortex checklist for creating image services with ArcGIS server that work seamlessly with Geocortex Essentials. I can't be the only one experiencing this can I? It seems like I must be missing something obvious...

Hei
We’ve had this problem too. The best solution is to have an invisible map at the bottom of your site list which defines the coordinate system. This however entails that you’ll have to start moving things around in the site.xml.
If you’re really unsure you can always check your coordinate system by exporting a shapefile. It was always be produced in the standard coordinate system.
good luck

I've found that the zoom on the viewer is limited to the scale of the cached map service. As a workaround, and it's not very elegant, I add another cached service which has a tile level at the largest scale the user needs to work at (even if it's hidden from them).
