Sort on a Subreport

I have a subreport the gets data from a datalink and passes it to the main report (Parcels with multiple addresses) . I want to be able to sort this data by a column, APN of the parcel. I can display the data in my report just how I want, but it will not sort by APN. This is partly because I do not full understand how the report receives data, especially the datalinked data. The datalink is working in the report, but I cannot sort.

It seems like this sample (https://support.geocortex.com/mailing-labels-duplicates-removed) should give me some direction, but the link now longer works to download it.

Any ideas on sorting data from a subreport?
