Unable to run Post Installation Application

Trying to upgrade to HTML5 1.3 but suddenly unable to run post installation application.  This error is thrown:

System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start process because a file name has not been provided.

 

   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()

 

   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)

 

   at Geocortex.Deployment.Core.AspNetTools.ExecuteNoWindow(String file, String args)

 

   at Geocortex.Deployment.Core.AspNetTools.SetupMWA(String bitness)

 

   at Geocortex.Deployment.Core.AspNetTools.ImplVersion20.Setup(String defaultBitness)

 

   at Geocortex.Essentials.PostInstall.EssentialsPostInstall.SetupAspNet(InitWindow window)

 

   at Geocortex.Essentials.PostInstall.EssentialsPostInstall.StartupAsync(InitWindow window)

Anybody experienced this and/or have thoughts on how to address it?

  Hi Ben,

  When you run the post installer, it takes an inventory of the ASP.NET versions on the server.  When you re-run the post installer it tries to ensure that all of those versions still exist.  So, if you had ASP.NET 2.0 at some point and have since removed it, you will get this error.

  We have filed this as an issue with the post installer, and will resolve it in a future build of Essentials.

  For now, use regedit to remove the registry keys that the post installer uses, to reset it.  Steps are here:
