put labels on selected items, use toggle lables

Hi i have two questions about labels for a dynamic mapservice

 

1. is it possible to put a layer activity that allows the user to toggle label visibility? if so, how?

 

2. is it possible to put a label on the results of a query activity or only label the items retrivied by query? if so, how?

  Your #2 item is something I'm trying to do, but am finding no posts in these forums with a solution. Have you found a way to do this?

  i think you can get the ids of the results of a query or where clause of the query in a put it in a setLayerDefinition activity.  That would show only whats filtered.  you could also have that layer be a ghost layer with labels and toggle off and on its visibility only when needed.   there may be other things you can do such as update graphics layer, though i do not know about labels there.  I have not tested any of this, so let me know if helps at all.
