    Hi Rob,

The easiest way to update the splash screen is to replace C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SilverlightViewer_X_Y\ClientBin\Resources\Images\SplashTitle.png with another, more suitable image.

You'll have to repeat this following an upgrade, since the upgrade will deploy a fresh copy of the viewer and a fresh copy of the SplashTitle.png.

    Thanks Malcom!

One ohter question - Does this have to be the same for all web maps or is there an easy way to refer to different splashscreens for different maps?

    Hi Rob,

The splash screen is loaded immediately, before any other viewer or site configuration.  So, it's always going to be the same image for whatever site you are launching.

You can deploy multiple copies of the viewer to different folders if you want to have different splash screens.

THanks. A single splash screen is fine. Just curious.

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

I've replaced the file indicated above, yet the splash screen of our maps still say "Your organization goes here".

Any ideas? Is there some type of cache with this?

    Cheers

    Rob

    Robb,

you will need to clear your browser cache to see the changes made...

The browser will have cached that orignal splash screen image.

Thanks Gareth - But unfortunately clearing my cache in firefox still brings up the default screen.

I cleared all settings, history, cookies, cache, site preferences etc.

    Rob,

next step then would be to use a web sniffing tool like Fiddler, or the browsers on Firebug, or Chrome's developer tools to look at the request for the splash screen image and making sure it is getting it from the right location .. ie. IIS virtual directory...?

There should be a request called: GET SplashTitle.png - if you copy the request path into a browser you will know what's it's trying to do....

Have you altered the SplashScreen.xaml file in the wwwroot\<viewer name.\ClientBin directory to go looking for the splash screen anywhere else other than the location stipulated by default in here..

    cheers

    GF
