Identify/MapTips for large geometries failing
We've got a site in development with two viewers, a Silverlight and Html5 v 1.2 and when we click\or use identify on a large feature it works fine in Silverlight but fails in Html5 and jsut shows the No Results pop up. Any ideas why this is happening?
The specific requests in Fiddler were:
Silverlight:
GET /ArcGIS/rest/services/DOCMaps/DOCMaps/MapServer/identify?geometryType=esriGeometryPoint&geometry=%7b%22x%22%3a1243610.03644872%2c%22y%22%3a4802396.10207039%2c%22spatialReference%22%3a%7b%22wkid%22%3a2193%7d%7d&returnGeometry=true&sr=2193&imageDisplay=1052%2c810%2c96&layers=all%3a12&tolerance=0&mapExtent=1025592.93374785%2c4645762.45546977%2c1582277.38045007%2c5074388.31272148&layerDefs=%7b%7d&f=json& HTTP/1.1
Html5 v1.2:
GET /ArcGIS/rest/services/DOCMaps/DOCMaps/MapServer/identify?f=json&geometry=%7B%22x%22%3A1274182.4288006702%2C%22y%22%3A4809664.267814763%2C%22spatialReference%22%3A%7B%22wkid%22%3A2193%7D%7D&tolerance=5&returnGeometry=true&mapExtent=%7B%22xmin%22%3A1014361.0758246309%2C%22ymin%22%3A4582122.146063852%2C%22xmax%22%3A1571574.6902518598%2C%22ymax%22%3A5074777.298040823%2C%22spatialReference%22%3A%7B%22wkid%22%3A2193%7D%7D&imageDisplay=1053%2C931%2C96&geometryType=esriGeometryPoint&sr=2193&layers=all%3A12 HTTP/1.1

Hi Mark,
If you copy the entire HTML5 URL from Fiddler (CTRL+U) and paste it into your browser, do you see any results?

Hi Jason,
Thanks for your reply. No results in IE9 on either of the calls (Silverlight or HTML5) when I copy the whole thing from Fiddler. They do show in Firefox and Chrome though. My colleague also noted that in Chrome using the HTML5 browser it doesn't highlight the feature once clicked, but does show the maptip (try the site below in FF and you'll see how it should behave). If you'd like to replicate you can use the following site http://maps.doc.govt.nz/Viewer/Index.html?viewer=rwa, turn on the Open Hunting Permit Areas layer and click on the large hunting area on the west side of the bottom of the South Island (SW of Queenstown) or search for Fiordland National Park (in FF or Chrome as it doesn't appear in IE9...). We don't yet have a Silverlight viewer in production with the same layers you can test against (but hopefully will come Friday).
Thanks
Mark0
