Cannot
I tweaked text of the built-in letter-size print template, but I cannot add the Print Template. An error message appears at the bottom of the Print Template Wizard:
" The Location is not a valid print template. Please ensure that the template is a valid 'rpx' file and that all subreport references are correct ."
I've tried copying the .rpx file to other directories, but no luck.
I'm using GE version 3.15 with ArcGIS version 10.2
Thanks for any recommendations for troubleshooting!

Hi Sheri
What text did you tweak?
Did you tweak it using the Report Designer?
Were there any special characters in it? ie <, >, & and the like.
Does the rpx file open correctly in Visual Studio as far as being valid XML or some other tool to assess valid XML structure? Plenty of validators on the Net (or try it in a web browser)
Is there a subreport refered to in it that is not in the same location as the main report?
Let see how those questions go for starters ;-)

Hi Ralph,
I did use Report Designer to change the disclaimer, replace the logo and modify the map title, but otherwise the template is the same as the original. But I tried adding just the original template from the samples without any changes (PrintTemplate_85x11_Landscape ), but received the same error at bottom of the wizard.
No special characters included. No sub-reports (it's just the simple print template with a main map, overview map, legend and Notes box (lower right corner)).
I copied the contents of the file into an online XML validator (I used two different validators as a double-check), no errors found.
Many thanks for your help! Newbee here...

Hi Sheri,
The legend is actually a subreport. If you've moved the main RPX file to a new folder, please also copy Legend.rpx into that folder.

Drat about not being specific enough about sub-reports!
Now Malcolm gets the points for answering the question ;-)
