How to import\export CAD files (.dwg files) in the Geocortex?

 

At our institution, we heavily use the CAD format (.dwg) and wanted to know if there is a way to add\export this format the same way the Geocortex does for the shape files

For example, the ArcGIS Desktop can easily add\export CAD files.

  We got a workflow the can read CAD files but this workflow requires FME Safe software to be installed on the server.

  As far as exporting to CAD, we have that working on one of our viewers via a workflow and a geoprocessing service published on ArcGIs Server. It presents a list of all the layers in the application, allows the user to select which ones to export, then allows them to draw a box around the area to export. It creates a ZIP file of a CAD file with those layers extracted.

   

  In case it is useful to anyone else, here is the ModelBuilder tool you can use to publish the GP service and the Workflow you can use to call it:

  In this GP model,Is there any way to retain all the symbologies,layer properties & CAD attributes in the extract?

   

  Pls suggest as this has become a critical requirement in our project

  Hi Jamal, would also like to know more about the FME option. We currently use FME to manually export our data to CAD with symbology etc and would like to put this function onto our geocortex viewer . TIA.
