WMS with 4.0

I notice that 4.0 still isn't dealing with our long term problematic WMS that quite a few Geocortex users in Australia use.

The bureau of meteorology WMS  triples the size of our site.xml from ~3000 lines to over 9000 lines (It doesn't help we have 6 themes.)

The trouble is that they've got a large number of services.  

It's a shame there's still no way round this problem in 4.0.  Though the new service loading page makes it better.

We've dealt with it in the past with GetConfig hacks and AAM's Custom WMS Service.

Speed seems to be OK, but will a 9000+ line site.xml be a problem in anyway?
