Exit workflow when choosing another Button/Tool.

I have a workflow that uses “Capture Geometry” activity. However, when the users run that workflow and then decide another workflow or user another Geocortex functionality (e.g. add shape file). Then they click on the map, they discover that the workflow is still active and waiting for input. this also applies if they clicked on the close button in the workflow container instead if clicking on the close button on the display form.  I tried to setup up a listener to ActiveToolChangedEvent but it failed. Is there another way around this?
