Workflow Error - at random?

Any ideas what this actually means? I often get this error the first time I some of the more complex workflows in a given day, which are typically querying data via REST. The error appears after several seconds, almost like it's timing out. If I run the same workflow again with the same inputs, it nehaves as expcted. We are still on Essentials 3.14, SLV 1.9. I am hoping the latest upgrade will fix this... but it would still be nice to know what is causing this.

  That's a familiar error. Can you give some more info on what kind of activites the workflow runs?

  I usually get the error with a Query Task or UpdateFeatures activity. Again, it's typically only the first time run and almost like permissions aren't verified yet or something isn't ready until it's executed the first time... ??
