Since all of our site's project files are stored in one directory, the name used internally for the project file, for example:

20d8997f-8d1b-4d36-bd17-4e7ce42b2b1e..... must contain a linkage to the site. And since these projects that I'm after, were part of a site

that has been deleted, is there anyone to open this file, or alter it in some way as to reset the site that it belongs to?

Is the Knowledge Base article "Reconfigure a Silverlight Viewer to Point to a Copied Site" a relevant method

to rename an existing site back to the old name that was used when these lost project files were created?

In a previous post titled "Project Files Crashes Viewer", Malcolm Walker stated that...

"When I drop those projects into my test Essentials, I am able to open them (once I have provided sites that match your site names).  However, I don't have your layers matched up so that might be an issue"

How do you know the name of the site you need to set? Is it just as simple as matching the name to the site that the projects belonged to?

    Problem solved.

Only had to create a new site, and go into the site.xml and change it back to the old name of the project that was deleted.
