Print and Export Map Issues in version 4.0

Since upgrading our default instance of Essentials to 4.0 we have had episodic problems with the printing and export map requests.  It is not necessarily a  4.0 issue as I can copy the sites and viewers to a new essentials instance that I have setup to test the sample sites and they will work in that setup.  I cannot determine when or why it is failing in my default.  The logging is set to debug and does not register anything for these requests.  Any ideas how to better troubleshoot this problem?
