hiding map tips working

I have a map that starts with a list of parks in the data window.  When you click on a park name the map zooms to that park.

This is all perfect.

I don't want the map tip to come up at that point.  How do I stop this from happening?  I have removed all "Show Map Tips" check marks, and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.
