Report with data link not working with Silverlight viewer
hi, I got an issue with the Report using the data link to display non-spatial data. the report works when the data is from the layer directly, but it fails when it tries to grab the data from the external database. but the datalink works fine and it can be viewed from the tab. I am using geocortex 4.0 and silverlightviewer 2.1 with oracle database. so I pick oracle OLEDB connection. does anyone has the same problem? Thanks a lot.

I found out that you have to create a sub-report that references the datalink and then add that sub-report to your main report.
In the help documentation, it was very vague until you read it a couple of times.

Zhang,
Did you got the answer for your problem? I have the same problem, and also do not know how to tie the parameters inside the report. If anyone know how to fix this, please post it. Thank you so much.

I got these steps, which should be helpfull. but actually I still have problem in the connection string ( I got "connection failed" error). Note: I tried to enter the string from the manager and from the tool itself but without any usefull results.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the steps. these are the steps t o add an OLE DB data connection:
1. In Manager, edit the site that you want to configure.
2. Click Data Connections in the side panel
3. Click Add Data Connection.
The Create Data Connection wizard opens.
4. Type a display name for the data connection.
5. Select OLE DB as the data provider.
6. If you want Essentials to test the connection whenever the site loads, select the Verify on startup check box.
7. Click Next.
8. Type in the connection string.
9. Test the connection.
10. Click Finish.
The wizard closes and the data connection appears on the Data Connections page.
11. Click Save Site.0 -
(solved) Use sureports for each datalink you have in your main report.
For your SubReport Control in you Main report use following properties as:
ReportName is set to datalink you want to use for subreport
Tag is set to relative location for rpx file used as source for subreport.

Hi all,
I got the same issue with the subreport as seen in this link "http://support.geocortex.com/SupportForums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=2&thread=58296" ,
What might be the issue?,
Any updates.

Lubna
