Sources for icons
Hi everyone,
The sites that we build often have a lot of tools, workflows, etc., that require us to add significant numbers of buttons to our sites. Often I find myself struggling to find or make icons that are both easy on the eyes and give the user some context for the tool. Sometimes I need to spend a lot of time on the internet googling for icons that aren't what I want or are copyrighted. And I'm by no means a graphic designer.
Can anyone share any good sources of icons, either free or at minimal cost? Or, if you build your own, is there an easy process to do so?

I find a lot of icons at https://www.iconfinder.com/
you can search and find many useful icons for free they also give you suggested paid ones based on your search
if you find an icon you can't live without. For example

A few other sources I've used:
http://flaticons.net/ - nice set of categories, and I really like their online icon customization app that lets you set size, color, border, etc...
This is a very large icon set aimed at open source development projects. You have to download the zip archives to view/browse, as it looks like the old visual gallery is not online anymore:
