Can I extract a graphics layer to feature set?

Hi,

I would like to extract the geometry from an added Shapefile as a Feature Set so I can project it to a different coordinate system.

Does anyone know how to do this?  Or a better way to allow user to add a Shapefile to a map and for it to reproject to web mercator?
