Format date in featuredescription

How can I format a date field in the featuredescription, so that it reads just "May 22 2014" (or any other date format), instead of "Thu May 22 2014 16:58:33 GMT+0200"?

  Date formatting is controlled by your operating system only. This is an ESRI limitation, though it would be nice to override in GCE.

  That may be true for an identify operation, but a Query Task returns the date as a number, and formatting is done by Essentials.

  So, again: How can I format that date?

   

  At least, formatting should be consistent across browsers, now I see:

  • IE : Tue Jun 3 13:10:53 UTC+0200 2014
  • Chrome : Tue Jun 03 2014 13:10:53 GMT+0200 (West-Europa (zomertijd))
  • Firefox : Tue Jun 03 2014 13:10:53 GMT+0200
