    Hi Jamal,

There isn't a copy viewer tool in Geocortex Essentials.  However when you do copy a site, the viewers get copied as well.  They will be available in the Viewers section of the site.

I hope this answers your question.

    Matt.

At this point, what I need is to copy the viewer without the need to copy the site.

What could be missed if I copy the viewer from the location below (for the X site)?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\x\Viewers

Did you ever figure out a good solution?  I want several similar viewers withouth starting from scratch.  This seems like it should be a no brainer?  Thanks in advance for any info.

    Matt,

I recently copied a site and noticed the viewer was also copied.  Does this mean that the two sites share the same viewer?. If you change it in one site them the change shows up in the other as well? or is this a copy of the viewer except worth the same name? If sites can share a viewer, is there a way to add an existing viewer to a site?

You can copy viewers from one site to another. You just have to manually add the reference to it in your Site.xml for it to show up in GE Manager.

However, with the huge number of dependencies a viewer usually has on a site (workflows, images, etc.), I think it's generally a not a good idea. Instead, you can copy a lot of the viewer config from one file to another via the config files. It's a little more tedious, but you can replace a lot of viewer settings fairly quickly, e.g., copying an entire toolbar config.
