    Hi Rebecca,

Yes, the pushpins feature was introduced into the Geocortex Viewer for HTML in version 2.1

    Sarshad.

I can't seem to find the setting for pushpins in HTML5....can you tell me where to find the setting?  It's not visible to me. I've looked everywhere....

The pushpin settings can be found in the GVH management console in Essentials. Please ensure you have at least version 2.1 of the viewer for HTML5 installed. Go to Viewers in the left hand side menu -> Edit the viewer and you should see the pushpins configuration tab in the list of menu items on the left.

I recently upgraded from the 2.0 viewer to the 2.2 viewer.  Here's a screen shot of the available settings for my 2.2 viewer. I don't see pushpin settings anywhere.  Is it buried?

    Hi Rebecca,

To ensure that you're not seeing a cached version of the old viewer's management pack, could you clear your browser cache by hitting Ctrl+Shift+Del (In IE and Chrome) and choosing the relevant options? After this, try reloading the page. If it still doesn't work for you, we'll take it from there.

No luck.  I cleared the cache in IE...we don't have Chrome installed on that server. Could this be an issue because I went from 2.0 to 2.2?

    Hi Rebecca,

I tried to reproduce the issue you're facing but was unable to. When I upgraded from the 2.0 to 2.2 viewer, I got the old management pack in essentials (similar to what you're getting) but when I cleared the cache, it loaded the newer one as expected. Could I please request you once again to hit Ctrl+Shift+Del with essentials logged in and then make sure you select at least the two options - "Temporary Internet files and website files" and "Cookies and website data" and then clear the cache again?

If you're still facing the issue, then could you confirm if you said "Yes" to the pop up dialog asking you if you want to install the management pack while you were upgrading your template?

Also, while we're at it, if the step above does not work, could you hit F12 with essentials logged on, select console on the top and type in "geocortex.essentialsHtmlViewer.version" in the text input box at the bottom? Please let me know which version it's reporting.

I deployed the management pack during set up and tries again to clear the cache.  I just tried your other suggestion and it's reporting version 2.0.0.0994. That doesn't look right...

That's your problem right there. The version number should be 2.2.x.xxxx. For some reason you seem to be (re)loading the older management pack. Before we troubleshoot further, could you tell me which version of essentials you're using?

I just upgraded to 4.1.2 and installed the new templates (and deployed the management packs) during that process.

    Hi Rebecca,

    Please try the following:

    1) Open File Explorer - browse to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Geocortex\Essentials\RestManager\Html5Viewer\Viewer\Management\. (Please note that "C:\inetpub\wwwroot" here is the IIS root folder. If the root folder is elsewhere you will need to browse to that location instead).

    2) Once here, you should see six sub folders, one of which is named "Compiled".

    3) Rename the "Compiled" folder to "CompiledBackup" or something similar

    4) Start the Post Installation Configuration wizard and go to Configure Templates.

    5) Choose the HTML5 2.2 template and click on "Deploy Management Pack"

If everything has worked successfully and you're at the correct location, you should see a new "Compiled" folder created alongside the "CompiledBackup" folder you had renamed earlier. At this point, log in to essentials using your browser, clear the cache again and refresh. Your problem should be resolved. Once resolved, you can safely delete the "CompiledBackup" folder.

Note that you will need administrative privileges to rename/delete folders in the IIS root folder.

Let me know if it worked.

No luck :( We are currently setting up a new development server so when I install Essentials on there, I'll try to install only the 2.2 templates and see if that works.

    Hi,

I have dealt with a similar situation. What turned out to be the case was the the server had some sort of cache clearing block.

Follow the steps to determine if this is indeed a caching issue.

-Try to delete the cache the regular way/ways you do it.

    - Once you do that, navigate to Internet Explorer's settings and go to "Browsing History" section and click "Settings". Once this window opens, click "View Files".

    - If you have files in this folder, it's likely that the clear cache isn't working as expected. Do a select all and delete the files in this folder.

Try accessing  REST Manager again. It's not a cache issue if you still cannot see pushpins.

    Cheers,

    Kevin
