    Hello Jamal,

I was wondering if you got a solution to this issue? I think you have because in your XYZ post I see you have an Add AutoCAD file button.

How were you able to add autoCAD files to your webmap? We have large amounts of drawings, and adding them to Geocortex when needed would be really valuable.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Warren

    HI Jamal -

I have been working with the 'upload simple cad' workflow you highlighted below and any chance you had trouble when opening the cad files?

I keep getting a 'data not found' error - even when opening a simple dwg straight off the desktop. Was there a specific version of cad that the dwg needed to be in or something?

Additionally, did you get this to work across multiple coordinate systems, lets say the input data was in a different coordinate system to the map viewer?

    Thanks kindly

    Katherine Lynch

    Hi Katherine,

This should work for simple CAD files. To better track the issue, try to have simple CAD file that contains only one line of 100 unit and try to add it with that tool. Does it work?

    Notes:

You need to close the CAD file (it is opened from the AutoCAD) before adding it to the Geocortex

This tool is assumed to open all CAD files of all versions

I think that the tool takes care of coordinate system of the CAD file

    Hi Jamal,

Are there any other options that FME Workbench? A freeware or open source?

    Thanks,

    Krystal

    Hello Jamal,

I tried using the simple CAD files and am also receiving the error, data not found.  I am using AutoCAD 2011 dwg, not sure if that matters.

    Thanks,

    Krystal

    Hi Krystal,

Unfortunately, there is no alternative for the FME software.

I hope that the Geocortex can be enhanced to be able to read all formats particularly the very common ones like CAD.
