Set opacity via workflow

Is there a way to set the opacity of a layer via the workflow? I have a workflow that queries across various layers and I want to set the transparency/opacity of the non-relevent layers when I return the results. I know I set the visibility but I don't want to hide them all togather.

  I need to set the opacity of a layer in a workflow, is there a way to do that?  i would need an example of syntax.

  If I remember correctly (from a response from LG), you can't. You set the visibility but not the opacity.

  ok, if i cannot set opacity on the whole service, is there a way to set the symbol color for the service to a color that has transparency, in a workflow?

  the opacity setting is found at the mapservice level in the map component of the geocortex rest service. i did not find any tools to support changing the opacity of a service only visibility.

  You can set the opacity of a map service according to the workflow help menu.

   

  Set Map Service Property Activity

   

  You can use this activity to set the value of any publicly available property, such as the map service's "Opacity", "Visible", or "minScale" property.
