Dan - Did you get this figured out?  I'm getting a similar error.

No, unfortunately not.  I had to create a local login in the DB.

Kari...did you have any success with this issue. I'm having the same problem.

    Thanks

    Hi Simon,

No, unfortunately.  I got busy with other things and just hadn't had a chance to get back to it and try it again.

    Hi,

If you are experiencing problems establishing a data connection to a database that is using Windows Authentication, then please go to IIS Manager > Application Pools > EssentialsAdministrationAppPool4 > Advanced Settings > Identity and add a custom account. Essentials uses the Application Pool Identity for authentication (which is why the server name shows up in the error message). By adding a custom account, Essentials will now use that account for authentication when sending requests to other servers.

After you have added the account to EssentialsAdministrationAppPool4, please do the same thing to EssentialsAppPool4. Once this is all done, re-run the Post Installer to update the changes and you should be able to create the data connection in Essentials Manager.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Thomas,

In the Data Connection properties in Manager, there is an option to act as the connected Windows user.  That should do the trick!

    Thanks,

    Daniel,

I don't see this option? Can you please be more specific?

    Hi Melanie,

I'm afraid I made a mistake, I was thinking of the map service connections.  To my knowledge, you cannot have a data connection act as the connected user, since connects with the App Pool identity (as Carmen mentions earlier in this thread).

    Sorry about that!

    Thanks,

    Danny
