How to delete/remove one item from a List<of DataItem>

I have a List<DataItem> that was made using the FeatureSettoDataItemList tool.  I now want to delete/remove one of the items from the list using a user inputted string.  So far I have tried the invoke method tool with out any success.  Does anyone know what I am over looking??

  There is a Remove From Collection activity in the Collections category.
