GE 4.2.0: “instant search” never works,

I have applied the “instant search” on a service (that contains one feature class stored in file geodatabase) where the “search index” is successfully completed. Nevertheless, the instant search doesn’t work.

What might be the issue here?

  Hi Jamal, make sure you enabled the "Include in Global Search" option for the layer you want to search on. The search will only search on those layers where it's enabled.

  Sure, it is checked, nevertheless, it doesn’t work

  What other settings should I consider?

  How to assign particular fields to work with the “instant search”? Or are they the same as the ones set for the “global search”?

  By the way, we are struggling at the moment to add screenshots to our posts as this a long process in this forum due to the fact that we are required to store them first in in a folder then to select them. For me, explaining our issue with screenshots is much more powerful than words.

  Is there any plan to develop the way the screenshots are added to posts? We are spending much time just to add one or two screenshots.
