retrieve spatial info from a layer based on a parcel search
I originally posted this awhile agao, but I thought I wuld trhrough it out there again...so far I have had fantastic help from posting on the forums.
I am creating a Garbage a nd Recyling that needs a workflow that will allow the user to type in an addres (autofuill it), return the address and then retu rn the garbage a nd recyling day info. The Garbage and Recyling info comes from a table that is linked to a shapefile that is published out in it's own service. As far as I can tell this breaks down into two parts:
1) Run a workflow that searches for a parcel address
2) Return values from other layers(table) that are spatially related to that parcel??
I have part one working perfectly...no problem, but I am not even sure where to start with the second half. Any idea 's would be really helpful. even if you can point me to some similar code...I can take it from there.
Thank you
Larisa

Hi Larisa,
For the second part of your workflow, does the Garbage and Recycling Day info have a geometry (is it a polygon layer or is it just a table)? If it is just a table, are there any fields that are in common with your parcel layer you are performing the search on?
If you have a public REST endpoint I can look at, it might be helpful.

HI Warren,
It is kind of both...we have a polygon layer that is joined to a table using a distict district id. This is publisehd out in teh MXD.
The layer has the boundaries and the table defines the exact pickup dates. We are trying to get somthing to work like this: here is an example of a site
here is my rest end point:
Thanks! :)

Hi Larisa
your REST end point looks like the url to this thread. Is that what you meant to post?

Thanks Warren.
This has been a crazy day for me so, yes, sorry about the wrong link to rest endpoint. What I was supposed to copy was this:

I am going to give your suggestions a try. I was stumped before, but what you are saying makes sense.
thanks.

Hi Larisa
just out of curiousity do some of the areas get the rubbish collected on more than one day per week?
This is in regards to why you have structured the data in the way you have as compared to having one field that has a Domain on it of the days in the week.
Same with your WEEKONE/WEEKTWO/WEEKTHREE/WEEKFOUR set of fields

Ralph,
Yes there are a few areas in the City like that.
I am going to have to take a much closer look at how the data is structured. It is not mine, I did not compile it, but I have to work with it. My first look at it seemed to make sense, but maybe it needs some more work.
Thanks
Larisa
