Global Search doesn't work with numbers

I have a layer that has a job code field. The code could be "1234" or "A1234". If I search for a code that is just numbers, I don't get any results. If I search for a code that has letters also, I get the correct results.

I found this thread from a year ago that covers the same issue...

Is this the same bug? Any fix in the near future?

  I'm having this same problem. I see that your post was from a year ago and the link to the older post doesn't work. There must be a way to search a text field with numeric text, as often ID numbers have tobe searched. But I've got a layer of well locations, which often have numeric names and the search returns nothing.

  What versions are you using and what does Fiddler show? We are on GE 4.3 and GVH 2.5 and have no issues using Global Search with numbers in text fields.

  Hi Ted,

   

  What version of the viewer do you have installed?  If you look at the link that Pandora provided, there was a discussion there that resulted in a bug being filed, which was fixed in version 2.4 of the HTML5 viewer.
