    Hi Eric,

The Instant Search refresh frequency setting is stored in a file at this location -

    C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Application Services 2\Roles\Scanner\Nutch-1.0\conf\nutch-site.xml

and the proprty name is -

    db.fetch.interval.default

the rate is stored as a number of seconds between scans.  We recommend not changing this value though as it's possible to trigger a new refresh while an existing refresh is still taking place.

This file location is specific to verion 2.3 of the viewer, this will likely change when 2.4 is released in the coming weeks.

    Regards,

    Wayne

    Hi, Wayne,

Is there a way to force start the scanner process? My search stopped at 68%, and the instance search tick box was unticked.

I would like it to restart as I add in addtional attribute columns.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Helen,

To restart the service you would simply check the box and save the site.  It’s possible the indexing was complete but only displayed 68%.  The 68% represents the percentage of data that has been indexed and if 32% of your data was not index-able than the process was complete.  An example of data that is not index-able would be dates stored as text.  32% seems high for non-indexable data so I would check the logs at C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Application Services 2\Data\Logs\Scanner.txt to see if they indicate any issues.

    Regards,

    Wayne

Hi - hopping on this thread since it's been very enlightening.  If your index builds in an hour or 2, I'm guessing it's ok to change the interval value (understanding things may change when new versions of viewers/essentials are installed)?

Also, related to this, I'm wondering if there is a way to differentiate between indexes in the Data folder, or similar location?  If we have multiple services scanned/indexed on a server and want to delete one but not the other, I have never figured out how to do this without deleting the whole Data folder and rebuilding every index (Stop GAS, delete data folder, Start GAS, re-index).

    Thanks

    Allen

can I set different index update frequency for specific services?   certain layers are updated more frequently than the other.  For some layer once a month is good enough but certain layer once a day is required.

No, I am afraid you cannot.  The setting controls all services.

I would suggest posting this to the "Ideas" section.
