Print template legend multiple columns

Can I make the print template legend multiple columns?  I have a print template that is letter - portrait and I would like to place the legend across the bottom of the page taking up only 3" in height and 8" in width.  It would be great to alter the Legend.rpx code to allow for multiple columns of the same legend... has anyone figured out a way to do this?

  I have not tested this, but if you have not yet solved this, I would suggest opening the Legend.rpx.

  Click on the "detail" in the right hand side menu (expand "Report" if detail is not visible)

  Under the "Data" there is a space for 'ColumnCount'.  It is currently at 1, type in 2 (or however many columns you would like, in doing that you would also have to adjust the page size) you will also see that from 3 inches to 6.5 it is now greyed out, indicating that you can't place any items there as it is now designated space.

  Save it and try.  Again I have not tested this for the Legend.rpx.  I use the column for various reports and it works, so good luck to you, hope this helps.
