Non Visible Data Links are inaccessable in map tips or feature details
I have a data link setup that returns an image path based on a tax parcel ID #. I use the path to display an image in my map tip. When the users clicks the "View Additional Details" link in the map tips popup. The image path appears at the bottom of the field list. I don't want the end user to see the image path so I unchecked the "visible" checkbox in the data link page. This apparently blocks access to the data link and now my images dont appear in my map tip.
1. Is unchecking "visible" supposed to work like that?
2. Is there another way to block data link fields from appearing in the feature details?

Hi Daniel
I posed the same question in one of my early posts and the answer was yes to your first question.
If you uncheck the Is Visible it should still be accessible from a workflow and then you could expose the value in a Form including an informative message when there is no Image for whatever reason.

Hi Daniel
Did you ever find a solution and/or a work around for this?
Cheers

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately, if you want to use the built-in tools to display an image from a data link in the maptip, then you will have to set the data link to visible in order for the image to show up. If the data link is not visible, the maptip will not be able to extract any information from it. At this point, I would suggest adding this to the (https://support.geocortex.com/GSCIdeas?c=09a6000000008RsAAI&filter=1&categ=all&sub-nav=ideas&main-nav=essentials&page=1) Ideas Board here so it can be considered for a feature enhancement.
If you want to hide the link and still display the image, then you can create a workflow that runs from the maptip so that the user can click on the link and display the image in a new tab/browser. However, this means that the image itself will not show up in the maptip.
I hope this helps
